Gearing up....

Really I should quit
while I am ahead.
In the middle of another post
and hit one wrong button.
There is a draft somewhere
that I can't get to.
One more time.
Breath......1...2....3
O.K.
I am going to see this wee angel tonight.
...and this is the goal.
But I have memories of a couple of,
"melt downs", from this little peanut.
Reminiscent of a cross between this
and this...
But I have had a weeks worth
of great sleep...so I am ready.

One more thought.
I keep thinking this colicy
thing is the formula.
do you think Milk will
make Sam look like this
by the time he is 22?

may be we should try this...

Or we could trade in ole Blue here.

For a pet that works for it's food

frustration and it's only 7:46 a.m.

Do you ever have moments of total
frustration?  ( Sam throwing his head
back and yelling comes to mind.)

I took pictures of my studio yesterday,
 unedited,
here are the facts.
(actually...these are glory shots in
a mess of paper, cardboard and paint)
Anyway.....
I am trying to teach myself photoshop elements.
(elements is supposedly a little less
complicated...basic,
a toe in the water...2nd grade!)
So ....
I resize the images,  save
a web copy and a regular jpeg.
I file them in iphoto, desktop,
documents, random kinda,
not realizing really where I should
file them. In the jumble I can't
find the web copies.
  Uhhhhhhh...
throwing head back now!!!!
I am out of times  I started
at 5:30  it has been 2 hours
I have stuff to do!!!
So....
here are 3 pictures
I had to redo...file...umber...resize.....again.

Ok.  enough.

Bath time for Sam

This was taken last friday.
Sam has a bath.
He peed on me again.
Oh well, I am getting use to it.
Look at those eyes, wide awake.

See where my arm is...a direct shot.
Next time I'll stand a little to the side.
Or make him a little peepee teepee.
Red gingham maybe.

winner winner

First of all do you ever look at
the clock and see numbers
that seem odd. This happens to me all the time.
Maybe I am watching to many LOST episodes
on netflix.    OH well.....  When I
started to post it was 2:22.
So
at 2:22
WE HAVE A WINNER!
I had my sister pick the name.
Congratulations Marilyn.
Sorry for the incorrect spelling above.

In the studio

I have put this on etsy.
It is my dream caravan.
"Some dreams have wheels."

Here is another one.
"I will be nice today and quietly play."
it is 8"x8.5"
I can customize it too.

I painted this a while back.  I saw this saying
at a cool little deli in New York.
I believe it has some merit.  When we commit
to a project or a path that leads us in a direction
we want to head in, we must make our intention
as if it has already happened.  I am working on this,
with my art.  What has happened, I am in love
with drawing....I am getting better with practice...

how about you?

Cat Stevens - Tea for the Tillerman

My God This makes you feel good.

I saw Harold and Maude a couple of months ago and could not get Cat Stevens out of my head.

I have been watching Extras on netflix and they play this song at the end of the show...I love it.
I bought the album on Itunes and it is so uplifting.
Tonight on Pandora I heard Peace Train.
This is shameful...but I thought Cat Stevens was dead.  He isn't, I read his bio on Wikapedia and was
amazed.  I think his voice, lyrics and message are amazing.

New Fathers day

Today it is dark and rainy
in Seattle.  It is also Fathers Day.
My father has been gone for
0ver 20 years.  He was a fisherman
who died at sea at the age of 48.
I still think of him.

I would like to dedicate this fathers
day to my son.  He became a father on
May 15, to Sam.
 My son will be a
great dad.  He is kind, loving, fun,
compassionate and busy.  A little boy's
dream daddy.  Happy fathers day Ty,
Love mom

I don't really understand
GIVE AWAYS.
But...I am really curious
as to how many of you
really read my blog.
I have a handful that
are so sweet and leave
a message and I have to say...
that is the grease that keeps the
wheels turning on blogs.
So just for my ego
I would like to know.
Soooooooo...
I would like to give away
a picture.

Sweet and simple,
from me to you.
If you leave a comment
I will pick at random
a winner.
If you have a blog,
I will come by for
a visit.
I will pick a winner
next wednesday
June 23rd.
Good luck.

Here is some new art
in cardboard frames.

I can personalize these with a name.

The first ones says,
"If we stop to listen we all dance to the same music -
the sound of the birds and the flowers - is the tune of love.

I will be nice today.

Some dreams have wheels.

My garden is a giving friend
that shares her bountiful blooms.

Sweet and Shy

These are all available for purchase.

Grand time

I guess I am just in the posting mood today.
I feel good after getting 10 hours of sleep...
but the night before was a different story.
Sam and I shared an evening.
Thursday night I took over the night
shift so mama could get some sleep.
She made me a cozy bed and Sam
was in his cozy little bed next to me...
12 inches away to be exact.
(A side note, he has colic.  So from
6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. he cried,
on and off.  Not really that bad,
he sounds like a baby tyrannosaurux rex.
He throws his head back and his little mouth
screeches.  But really, not bad at all.)  I am
sure when his lungs get stronger  he will
rally up some doozie screams.  Anyway...

First feeding.
Preliminary...diaper change, then feed.
Not to bad, He is the award winner for
BIG BURPS.  Then sound asleep.
Oh, a couple of hours never went by so fast.
Grama hasn't been up this late since she was
40.  Make bottle...he guzzles like he is never
going to get any more food...ever!
Change diaper...back to sleep

Wow, where does the time go?  It's like ground hog day.
Didn't I just do this?  My eyes are a little blurry and red,
I could do a great visine commercial right now.  His are
really big and awake!  Change diaper, he pee's on me. Make bottle
eats like no tomorrow, oh back to sleep.

This is the time I normally get up.  Uh, today is not
normal.  Today I feel groggy.  Here comes mama
to rescue me.  I tell her I feel great, I should get up.
"I can take Sam", she says.... o.k.  I lay back down...
until 8:30!

We had the rest of the day together.
Walking, a little house work.
It was a great day.  I can't wait
until next thursday.
Now that things are a little settled
here.  I am helping out with
Sam.  He is my one month old
grandson for those of you not in
the know.
Last weekend I took him for a
walk so mama could take a
much needed nap.
We walked to the Ballard locks.
To get there you go over a very bumpy
rope ladder that crosses over a train tress el.
This is the look I got
But...
there is one thing that goes together like peas and carrots
Babies, walks and naps.
He gave it his best shot...
but with every bump
the eyes got heavier and heavier
until
out like a light.
He would try and wake up.
But just couldn't.  Do you remember
english class in high school.
No matter what...you could not
stay awake.  Well Sam and
the stoller....same thing.
Mission accomplished,
mama and baby much needed rest.

Good ole days

The good ole days.
Making bunnies seems like it was
a life time ago.  Here is one
I really liked.
She was 4 feet tall.
Cute.

Poor pitiful Krys

When I was a little girl.
I received this doll from my
parents.  Her name is, Poor Pitiful Pearl.
My mom thought there was a connection.
Because I am the queen of whining.
I guess I was a pitiful child.  Tenacious
like my blog states....I really never gave
up if I wanted something.
To read more on this doll go here

Pink eye

Pink catches my eye.
Here are a few of my
favorite saves.
Sorry... do not remember
from where I captured
these lovely images.  But we know
why I have the camper and the little
house.

Dreams have wheels

Here is a picture inspired from.....

...this picture....

...found in this book....
still dreaming of my little home on wheels.

Laughter is contagious

Finders keepers update

Well, I have been getting a little
more sleep.  My week started on
wednesday so it flew by.
I made these tweet clips for
finders keepers

Also some origami birds on a wire.
And a new piece of furniture, shutters,
and some more goodies.
Also on my way out the door, I told
Judy...and make it all 20% off.

cardboard coolness

I am so thrilled about the reaction
to my cardboard booth at Farm Chicks.
These Pictures are from my file on cardboard.
This one  the entire room is cardboard.
Here is some furniture.

We are working on the booth for
Creative Connections in Minnesota
during the month of September.
I felt rushed and not ready for Farm Chicks.
We have 2 months to make our space
better.  So besides the booth.
I also plan on having patterns of our
birds, mushrooms, squirrels.
Can't wait!
But first,  I think I need to go
clean my studio.
