happy holiday
Recently I posted about special times spent
on Guemes Island at our friends cabin.
Here are 2 pictures I found recently.
One thing I noticed....
I had a tendency to pick up beer bottles
when someone points a camera
at me.
My sister and I with our uncle.
enjoying the beach on
Guemes Island.
Here is my cousin Tod on that carved whale I talked about.
Summer please come soon!

Hutch stuff
Inspired by Chris's iphone photo
of his Hutch progress...I snapped
a few quick photos of just a few
of the things I am working on here...
... a little notebook with it's own bag,
toddler knit sailor dress...
a bag of jacks with button...
big pillows.
and oh so much more.
all In the shop
mid June.
Pop over to
Hutch facebook and see
what Chris is working on...

guess who's one.
My little pumpkin is
ONE!
Granny is showing him one of 4 vehicles he got...insane!
He likes sugar. But ended up playing with the
plastic plate the cake came on.
Red is his color!
new tricks,
Walking...close to running
discovered lungs....yelling just for fun
shutting doors, cupboards, drawers
pushing buttons...especially phone.
Takes away his cousins apple juice
throws and kicks balls.
GENIUS

at the beach
I have been kinda busy.
Getting Hutch ready for V.I.P.'s
coming in June.
...AND...
Getting my beach house ready
for sale.
I am officially listing it
as of today.
So we have been tweeking it.
But also,
enjoying it.
The other night we snacked
on these...thanks to Rick the
shrimp catcher.
...FRESH...
Caught that day.
Broiled and served with
browned butter, a few chili flakes,
salt and pepper.
Better than lobster or crab.
Strawberries not local,
but pretty good.
And we ate around this.
One of the benefits of a cold May.
We need to build a good fire to stay warm.

A story within a store
We are very busy at
Bunnies By The Bay's
HUTCH.
Our makeover is in full swing.
When you walk into
our HUTCH you are walking into our story.
Two rambunctious little girls and a houseful of
shy rabbit.
Yesterday we videotaped the shop.
Sharing our work in progress.
Here are pictures I took
with my phone.
This is Chris he is walking to work.
Here is a new lamp for the, "library". Made of
popcycle sticks. (Wouldn't this be a fun workshop?)
An old chinese apothecary cabinet for
The Library.

Official sale
I met with a realtor yesterday.
I have officially listed my house.
If I were to close my eyes and
envision a beach house
envision a beach house
I would see mine.
When my sister and I were little, my mom
and her girlfriends and all their kids would
go to her friend Joan's family home.
It was built on the north shore of
Guemes Island.
Built by Joan's father and
left in trust to his three daughters.
The cabin holds some of my fondest memories.
They had a carved wooden whale on a post that
we would take turns sitting on. And
a wooden chest on the porch full of agates.
We would dig in the sand and make huge forts
and furniture out of driftwood. We visited a lady called, "Bubbles" who lived in a round house that had walls full of beach glass and agates.

and furniture out of driftwood. We visited a lady called, "Bubbles" who lived in a round house that had walls full of beach glass and agates.
All the kids and the mice slept in a loft.
It was incredible.
It was incredible.
I wanted to feel the same way I felt on those
amazing summer days of my childhood. So I
dreamt about my own house on the beach.
I found it.
Thirty-five years later.
My beach house was my dream fulfilled.
I love where it sits, in a unique and charming cove. Driving past Similk beach golf course everyday was like driving down a beautiful lane, full of trees, green grass and lush woods. And then, you would see the driftwood, the water, the islands. And I knew that I was living my dream, my heart was home.

It was my artist studio, where I learned to
draw and paint. Solder jewelry and sew my
own clothes. Plant a garden, create unique window boxes, serve up a killer barbecued salmon, and steam crab caught right out in Similk bay. It is THE place to be on the 4th of July. We built bon fires and toasted marshmallow. Told stories around that fire pit,and laughed until tears ran down our faces. There was no other place I wished to be.
It has been 10 years.
I have changed.
My little beach house not only
sheltered me but gave me the peace
of mind to make space for a new dream...
of mind to make space for a new dream...
To wander...to see more of this amazing planet.
I want to be a traveling gal.
To be light.
To be free.
To be free.
So I am ready to let go and hook
my star up to a new dream.
my star up to a new dream.
My wish... whoever buys my beach house has their dream fulfilled. When they walk through the front door and see that cove and look upon the forest covered islands, and the beach full of driftwood, they are filled with a sense of peace and know in their heart, they have come home.

Ahoy Mate
For my little 4" bunnies I need small prints.
No such thing...especially in stripes.
So I made my own. Using a lovely brand
new with tags on T shirt my sister had in a bag
to go to the goodwill...I drew on blue stripes for
my, "french sailor top."
Hello
...1 word...
Cute
A bientot! J'espe're te revoir bientot!

Found on my inspiration board
I was looking on one of my
inspiration boards for
a project I am working on
and found this...behind another
picture.
I have had this for years.
So it is from parts unknown.
I have been watching the show
Brothers and Sisters
on Netflix.
They are not quite as happy as these
siblings are.
More art painted in Maui.
